"I would wholeheartedly recommend Charlene to any family looking for compassionate, knowledgeable and personalised support"

Hello, I’m Charlene — an Endorsed Midwife, Registered Nurse, IBCLC and Mum of two.
I know firsthand how overwhelming those early feeding challenges can feel. I’ve been in that vulnerable place of wondering whether I could keep going with breastfeeding but I also know how the right support, offered at the right moment, can turn a difficult beginning into a deeply cherished experience.
This blend of clinical expertise and lived understanding shapes the way I care. I support families with empathy, clarity, and a genuine commitment to helping you feel informed, nurtured and leave confident in your feeding journey.
I offer gentle, evidence‑based breastfeeding support tailored to each family’s needs through both home visits and telehealth appointments. I understand how much being in your own environment can help you feel more relaxed and confident. It allows for a more accurate understanding of feeding and newborn behaviour — and removes the stress of travel during your recovery.
No matter where you are in your feeding journey, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Initial consultations are 90 minutes long where baby and parent are supported in their home environment which can focus on comfort, confidence, and strengthening the feeding relationship.
The session included comprehensive assessment to assess feeding, support parent–infant attachment, review health history, and develop an individualised feeding plan and a clear, achievable plan tailored to the family’s goals. It will also include screening for oral anatomy concerns, parent wellbeing check
and baby weight gain and milestone checks.
Standard Consultation are 60 minutes and are recommended as a follow up appointments. During a postnatal consultation we focus on how feeding feels for you and how your baby is feeding right now. The session is calm, unhurried and centred on your goals whether that is breastfeeding, mixed feeding, pumping or creating new goals. Together we explore what’s working, what may need adjusting, and how to make feeding more comfortable. You’ll leave with practical strategies, reassurance, and a personalised plan for you and your baby.
A remote postnatal consultation includes a review of your birth experience, early feeds and current concerns.
Where able we will do a visual assessment of latch, positioning and your baby’s feeding behaviour.
We check in on your wellbeing including postnatal health, mood, sleep and recovery. After the session, you’ll receive a personalised feeding plan.
You may find it helpful to send videos or photos of your concerns prior to the appointment to assist in treating any problems.
Welcoming a new baby is a very exciting time, preparing for feeding can help you feel more confident as you step into this next chapter. During our session we explore what to expect in the early days, normal newborn behaviours, how to recognise feeding cues and when to reach out for support. We take time to talk through breast and nipple changes, discuss hand‑expressing and how and when to use your colostrum if you choose to. Your support person is included too with simple, meaningful ways they can nurture you and help create a calm, connected feeding experience. This is a space to learn, ask questions, and feel supported as you begin your breastfeeding journey.
A remote consultation includes discussing how to achieve the best start for your breastfeeding journey from the moment your baby is placed into your arms. We can discuss your birth plan, prepare for your upcoming breastfeeding journey and how to initiate breastfeeding.
We discuss normal newborn behaviours, learning newborn feeding cues and what to do when you recognise those cues.
We can also discuss hand expressing techniques and how your support person can help.
